She is a Selle Francais mare bred by Mr. Richard Dick in Saint-Sylvestre-de-Cormeilles, France. She was imported by Haras des Jardins at 18 month old as a broodmare candidate.

The legendary BWP ambassador Darco competed internationally for Belgium under Ludo Philippaerts. The duo won their first world cup classes in London in 1988, then in Bois-le-Duc in 1989. In 1990, they finished 6th at the world championship in Stockholm and 7th individually in the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.
From 2007 to 2011, Darco was recognized 5 years in a row as the best father of showjumping horses according to the WBFSH rankings. His production counts more than 3000 descendants, many of which who were international performers such as Sapphire (Mclain Ward), Narcotique de Muze II (Éric Lamaze), Nais de la Pomme (Patrice Delaveau), Erco Van’t Roosakker (Rik Hmeryck), Coriana van Klapscheut (Pilar Lucrecia Cordon et Éric Lamaze), Turbo R (Jos Lansink),Panama du Seigneur (Delphine Goemaere), Bijou van de Vijfheide (Guy Williams et Trevor Coyle), Geena van’t Roosakker (Janika Sprunger et Jos Lansink), etc.

Registered Olbenderg, she is out of Oldenburg dame line 177 also known as the Rudilore line (or Chica line), one of the most influancial dame lines of OLDBG. The mare Chica was the foundation mare of Mrs. Harli Seifert breeding program, which produced international performers both in dressage and showjumping.
Cor de Grandezza is a full sister of the international GP stallion Couleur Rubin who, with Ludger Beerbaum, jumped up to the highest levels CSI 5* (1M60) and of the approuved stallion Couleur Rouge (1M30). She is also the sister of GP stallion Conterno Grande (Contender, ridden up to 1M60 by Marco Kutcher, and 1M45 performer Congress (Cornet Obolensky).
